CDC Updates Rules For Cleaning Surfaces To Protect Against Covid
Regular household cleaners and soap 鈥 not disinfectant 鈥 are fine to use to clean indoor surfaces and lower the risk of spreading the coronavirus, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said Monday. 鈥淒isinfection is only recommended in indoor settings, schools, and homes where there has been a suspected or confirmed case of COVID-19 within the last 24 hours,鈥 CDC Director Rochelle Walensky said at Monday's White House coronavirus briefing. (Rummier, 4/5)
CDC chief Dr. Rochelle Walensky also said that 鈥渋n most cases, fogging, fumigation, and wide-area or electrostatic spraying is not recommended as a primary method of disinfection and has several safety risks to consider.鈥 (Kaufman, 4/5)
